My Story
This blog is dedicated to all the people who want to learn how to lose weight quickly, correctly and healthy.
At 5′ 6″ and 230 lbs and suffering from sleep apnea, fatigue, out of breath, smoking, no exercise and borderline type II diabetes, not paying any attention to what I was eating, eating when I wasn’t hungry and just to feel better, feeling like hell all the time I decided to do something about it after an acquaintance who was 5 years younger than me passed away due to a heart attack. Did I say that I also had a lot of help from my fantastic wife.
I had suffered nerve damage to my left arm and hand and only have about 50% strength, so I really didn’t want to sign up for a gym program and not be able to exercise properly. With nerve problems it is so different, its not about muscle, but I wasn’t doing any strength exercises at all, I wasn’t even trying to do what I could. I had basically given up….
Talk about a prescription for disaster. They say denial isn’t just another river in Egypt. My doctor wasn’t any help at all and he said oh you just need to lose a couple of pounds…of course he didn’t look like he was in that great of shape either.
Talk about no will power… no sense of urgency…no acknowledgment that I really had a problem and it was a serious one. Man…when you lose someone you know and you thought he was in better shape than yourself and you start to wonder….what is my family going to do without me around, you have to take charge and move out. Make a change now…today!
Having a computer background, which was bit of the problem… no activity, playing multi-level games or studying and spending all my time in front of a computer or in front of the TV, I was falling asleep at my computer but wasn’t getting any rest. For me to do anything, I have to either have a list or a plan of action. I’m not one of those people who just say they are going to do something and do it. I need to be able to check something off a list so I can make it to that 21-25 days in a row so it becomes a habit. Just get me thru the first 3 weeks and I can usually go from there.
My solution was education and and finding a plan that fit my lifestyle and had a solution to my problem. I have reviewed a lot of programs, plans and pills. Sometimes it was a chapter in a book that made a difference or an exercise that I could do or a pill that killed that late night craving. Do what works.
This blog is my way of staying focused and helping others which gives me a good feeling which is a positive reinforcement to do the right thing and make those life changes which are necessary.
I hope you find the information I put in this blog informative and helpful.
Milton Garland said “My advice is to go into something and stay with it until you like it. You can’t like it until you obtain expertise in that work. And once you are an expert, it’s a pleasure”.
of course..

I try to take my situation serious, but not myself.
